Institution: Monash University
Course: Master of Advanced Civil Engineering (Water)
Location: Melbourne, Victoria
I was born in 1987 in Ekaterinburg, Russia. My parents are doctors, but I decided to be an engineer. I studied civil engineering in Ural State Federal University for 5 years, and graduated in 2009. After graduation I was working as a product engineer and specification manager. I was very interested in attending Monash University in Australia to complete further study and I was fortunate to win a Russian government scholarship that would enable me to travel to Australia and continue my education.
I chose Monash due to its excellent international reputation and very high rankings. As a student here, I have been very impressed by the modern facilities, great staff and international atmosphere. The course content is excellent and the labs and learning hubs are world-class.
After I graduate in 2018 I plan to go back to Russia and work for one of state enterprises. I think it will be easy to find a good job with the education I am getting at Monash. As a one of the world’s top unis Monash provides a remarkable level of knowledge.
Living in Melbourne has been a great experience. The architecture, landscapes and public places are quite remarkable. I love Melbourne’s beaches, nature, social life and coffee, and in my spare time I like to go hiking and sightseeing.
