Monash University is a multinational university with people coming from all over the world. It has allowed me to expand my international network.

Institution: Monash University
Course: Master of Business Information Systems
Location: Melbourne, Victoria

During my secondary school I decided to study abroad to explore other countries and cultures, meet new people with different backgrounds and get a higher level education. I got my undergraduate degree in the United Kingdom, and, after that, I decided to broaden my global awareness by studying for postgraduate degree in Australia.

I chose Monash University because it is one of the best universities in the world. Monash University is a multinational university with people coming from all over the world and it is a good a chance to further expand my international network.

Monash_AIS Skeleton_Testing5_Copy_editedMy favourite thing about Monash University is that it provides me with opportunities to be successful in the future. The university offers a wide range of services for personal and professional development as well as opportunities to meet people from various backgrounds. The course is focused on practice, has a strong career focus and helps develop necessary skills.

After I finish my course I plan to begin my career in business information systems. Monash University is preparing me for that career by providing me with necessary skills, knowledge and industry experience. As a part of my course I will be doing industry experience project, which involves developing a solution to an industry problem. This will be an excellent opportunity to work in a team environment to improve my skills such as communication, research and critical thinking. It will test and expand my knowledge and provide an opportunity to create innovative solutions through communication with industry experts.

Monash offers a lot of support for career and personal development. Recently, I have received advice and support for internship and volunteering applications. There are also other resources, which helps develop specific skills such as interview practice.

Monash_TEACHING 2 - CLAYTON_editedI currently live in on-campus accommodation in Clayton. I chose on-campus accommodation to have easy access to university services and study spaces as well as shops and cafes. This accommodation also offers a lot of support and social and sporting events, which are great opportunities to meet and communicate with other people.

Clayton campus is the biggest university campus, and includes a lot of educational, sporting, shopping and entertainment facilities. It also includes gardens and lakes. I was very impressed by these, as it feels like campus is a separate town in Melbourne.

Melbourne has been constantly named as the most livable city in the world. I like Melbourne for variety of things, such as major sports events, entertainment, cafes and developed infrastructure. The city has a lot of parks, gardens as well as skyscrapers and various sights. In addition, Melbourne has a very pleasant climate throughout all year.

Melbourne is a very diverse city, with a lot of people having various cultural backgrounds. It is truly cosmopolitan and it is a very comfortable place to live no matter where you came from, and what your interests are.
