I was awarded an AusAID scholarship in 2008 and completed my Masters in Medicine (MMed) in Paediatrics with distinction marks from the Royal Children`s Hospital, Department of Paediatrics, the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia. During my time at the Royal Children`s Hospital I acquired knowledge and skills in general paediatrics and paediatric respiratory medicine and went on to complete a PhD scholarship in paediatric respiratory medicine.

I am now a member of the newly formed Centre for Nutrition and Food Security (CNFS) and am working as clinical lead of the ICU at the Dhaka Hospital of International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh. I have been involved in writing more than 70 published manuscripts and lead the Basic Life Support (BLS) and the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training team of the hospital.

With the knowledge and skills acquired during my Masters program, I was able to develop several protocols and managed funding after returning to the Centre to improve the diagnostic and therapeutic tools of pneumonia and childhood tuberculosis.
In recognition of my work, I was awarded the 2012 Australian Alumni Excellence Award for Research and Innovation by the Australian Government (Australian Trade Commission).
