Elijah - Kenya
I first enrolled at TAFE NSW Taree in 2013, after qualifying for a scholarship, studying Accounting the course was hard at first but then the teacher really helped me. I got nominated for international student of the year thereafter.
Course: Accounting, Business and Diploma in Tourism & Travel
Institute: TAFE NSW
Location: New South Wales (multiple campuses)
The student experience
I studied accounting and business courses and a Diploma in Tourism and Travel at Kingscliff. TAFE NSW was amazing to me, the teachers were very friendly and supportive, the career counselling helped me a lot in order to figure out the best way to study and still be able to work.
The local community was also very supportive of international students.
The facilities were up to date with a new library and layout, new computers and equipment, with student materials always provided on time and accessible public transport.
An international perspective
For an international student like me, TAFE NSW was everything I could have wished for. I never feel alone, the support staff will do whatever they can to make you feel at home, it’s worth it.
I’d encourage any student who wants a pathway to university to consider TAFE NSW.
Study with the best
The high reputation of the teachers provided by TAFE NSW is amazing, they were always friendly and able to help any student who needed it.
The various courses they offer state wide are of high quality, and with career counselling available on campus, you can never go wrong.
