On deciding to study in Australia:

“I chose Melbourne as it is the world’s most liveable city. La Trobe University became a home away from home for me when I left Singapore in 1994 to enrol in the Bachelor of Nursing program in Australia.

That year was one of the richest learning experiences in my life -- learning a new culture, meeting new people and attending a world class university.  Studying at La Trobe not only challenged me intellectually but also imbued in me the love of learning and also ignited my interest to pursue a doctorate degree in Nursing.

The Australian education definitely prepared me in facing the challenges of nursing policy and management work.”
