Daniel Chun - Hong Kong

Course: Master of Information Technology
Charles Sturt University
New South Wales

I studied a Master of Information Technology at Charles Sturt University. It is a very practical degree for existing IT practitioners to renew their knowledge and credentials. As part of the CSU project work, I developed award winning software applications that I’m now distributing throughout Asia. The project was later adopted as the research framework and business model I published academically. From there, a business was formed and incubated with the Hong Kong government's support through the company HK Cyberport.

My studies contributed significantly to my success. The software application ClassBooking, is now hailed as a premium tuition and activities management system used to help parents, learning centres, tutors, instructors and students to efficiently manage their digital relationships. My business, Art Group Limited, has received several awards including the prestigious Red Herring Asia 100 Innovative Startup Award 2010 in celebration of the company’s innovative achievements as a start-up enterprise.

I fully recommend IT practitioners to take up this challenge. It really inspired me to go deeper in research, and this program has now taken me to starting my e-Learning business and pursuing a PhD in technology enhanced learning at the same time.
