After having a successful career in the Pharmaceuticals industry in India, I decided to take the next step by doing an MBA. Leaving my job to study further was a big decision, but I took the call to improve my long term career prospects.

I choose to study at the Monash University because of its high global ranking and reputation in the Asia Pacific region. From the very first day at the university, I found that my classmates were from all parts of the world.

It was good to see that the faculty has academicians who are known globally. Also, the engagement of faculty members with the corporate world made the program relevant and I found that the professors were genuinely interested in helping the students to give their best performance.

Working with my MBA colleagues enabled me to challenge my own perspectives and develop a strategic mind set. Navigating my way through different challenges, I received high distinction/distinctions in nearly all the units.

Apart from learning the hard skills, my studies and stay in Australia has helped in improving my confidence in representing myself in the best manner and connect with people from different walks of life.

Australia is a multicultural country and I truly felt part of a global society during my stay. I went to different events ranging from Aussie barbecues to Mexican festivals and Japanese dinners. I became friends with people from more than 40 countries and I know that I have friends whom I can call if I ever visit those countries. Australia also has a strong sports culture and I developed an appreciation for Aussie footy and became a proud supporter of one of the footy clubs.

After completing my studies I returned to India and I am now working with an International organization in the field of trade development. My MBA has given me the right skills and more importantly a base to build a career for life.

I feel that Australia has added significant value to both my personal and professional life. I am proud to say that I made the right decision to go for higher studies in Australia, considering its high global ranking of its universities, multiculturalism and welcoming society. Having so many friends and some family members living in Australia, I feel Australia is my second home.
