Study Melbourne recently invited 60 international students leaders from 17 education providers to the Study Melbourne International Student Leaders Forum.
The first of a series of new investments under the LIVE (Lead. Intern. Volunteer. Experience) initiative to support international student leaders, the forum was designed to help build leadership capacity, and to encourage networking and collaboration with fellow student leaders to improve outcomes for the community.
The forum included networking opportunities, international student leader 'speed-dating' and situational role play to encourage collaboration and communication, as well as information on how to engage with government.
Student leaders play a significant role in ensuring a healthy student community, listening and understanding the needs of the community, and giving students a voice.
