About the speaker
"With 18 years’ in the education industry, Stephen Perry has a wealth of classroom experience across ages and ability levels. Over the last nine years, he has specialised in Higher Education language and academic support, assisting students in preparing for university and supporting them while they undertake their courses, from foundation courses to PhD’s. Stephen has worked at universities in Australia, the UK and in China, supporting the academic needs of students across a diverse array of fields, from Business and Economics to Health and Sciences and Art and Design. He is interested in exploring how culture, language and academic knowledge intersect, and how these interact on a student’s academic journey. Stephen currently works at the Torrens University Language Centre on their Direct Entry Program.

At Torrens University Language Centre we specialise in academic writing skills. Join our masterclass for a taste of what we offer. We’ll show you how to build your skills by focusing on the kinds of references you should use in your writing and on ways to gather information from a number of different sources and put this information together, or synthesize it, so that your text clearly reflects your careful research. With the right strategies, you can learn crucial skills in academic writing and that with practice, these skills will transfer easily to your bachelor’s or master’s program.
