Business

A degree in business will set you up for life. It is a great qualification to have if you want to move between employers, industries, or even countries.

Unlimited options to choose from

You won’t be short of choices when deciding on a business course in Australia. Most universities and vocational education and training (VET) institutions offer one or more courses in the field, and there are even institutions that specialise in business.

If you want to study an undergraduate degree at university, there are three types of programs to choose from—commerce, management and business.
Each type has a range of specialisations under it, such as banking and finance, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, marketing, and human resources. Management courses can extend to other specialisations, such as aviation management or tourism and events management, so you can target your studies to suit your career goals.

VET courses are also a fantastic choice for business, with over 1,000 programs offered around the country. Many of these cover the same subjects as university courses, but also offer a range of specialisations that apply to specific occupations, such as retail operations, transport and distribution, or rural business merchandising.

Options for postgraduate students

If you already have work or study experience and want to give your skills a boost, you will find some postgraduate options at VET institutions. However, many postgraduate students cannot go past the flagship course in this field: the Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The MBA is one of a kind. It develops strong technical skills, helps managers learn how to influence people, interact with other departments, and negotiate with individuals from all walks of life. Basically, it is a comprehensive skills package.

If the MBA isn’t what you are looking for, there are also many graduate certificates and graduate diplomas as well as masters degrees and doctorates to choose from.
