Sunil spent over a year researching which overseas university he would attend before choosing Australia. The affordable tuition fees, excellent education, campus life and graduate jobs persuaded him that an Australian university was where he wanted to be.
“I came to realise that Australian universities offered me what I was looking for, including a well-recognised degree that would make me eligible for jobs across the globe. Over the last year of study in Australia, I’ve never regretted that decision,” he said.
Sunil describes the quality of education he is receiving as “exceptional.” He appreciates the hands-on approach to learning and the encouragement of his teachers.
“The courses are well-organised and are constantly updated to reflect changes in the world of computers. The structured approach to learning, the effective teaching methods used and the programming assignments have built my confidence to learn any new technology when it comes out,” he said.
Sunil says that Australian graduates are sought after by employers in his field.
“Australian universities are able to produce employees who are knowledgeable, but not afraid to ask questions and explore more about areas they are not experts in. Their qualities are invaluable and keep the work environment friendly and cheerful,” he said.
Outside of the classroom, Sunil spends time socialising and making the most of Australia’s “truly amazing” multicultural lifestyle.
Life after study is also fun, with lots of clubs and social events happening all the time. The Australian people are friendly and open to other cultures,” he said. For Sunil, Australia will never be the same as his home in India but it is “another home.”
