It may have been a big decision for Shiva to move to Australia to be closer to family—but she is certainly reaping the rewards!
“My
husband’s family lives in Australia so we thought it would be great to
live near them,” she said. “I love the entire experience of being in
Australia, including the people, the culture and the tremendous
educational opportunities.”
Shiva thinks the university’s
approach to learning is well-suited to her needs. Her course involves
self-directed learning and uses many case studies to teach students.
“I
am very pleased with my course of study. I think it is a great approach
to learning and I feel confident that I will graduate at the same level
as my peers in the United States. While there are differences in the
style of education, I think the approach to learning is very suitable to
my learning needs,” she said.
Although studying is Shiva’s top priority, she is also making the most of the social and cultural opportunities in Australia.
“I
think it is an amazing experience as long as you really want to do it
and consider everything before you come. Australia has so much to offer
academically, socially and culturally,” she said. “I am so glad I made
the choice to come.”
