Institution: Bond University
Kornel is very happy with the quality of education he is receiving in
Australia. And although he says a lot of work is involved in his course,
Kornel takes a very positive view of it: “It is a good preparation for
life’s challenges.”
Compared with the education system in his native Germany, Kornel finds
his Australian course provides students with greater access to lecturers
and more one-on-one attention. “One thing I like is the open-door
policy between students and the lecturer. We do not have that in our
country.”
Kornel is sure his Australian course will help him get a job. He
believes it will give him a competitive advantage by making him more
eligible to work for international law firms. As well as learning about a
legal system different to that of his own country, Kornel is also
improving his English-language skills and developing a better
understanding of different cultures.
Kornel is also enjoying living in Australia. In fact, he can’t think of
even one thing that would have improved his experiences in Queensland so
far: “I have not experienced any bad moments. Therefore I cannot say
anything negative about it.”
Kornel is particularly fond of the “very nice” people and finds most
Australians “really helpful.” He also loves the weather and Australia’s
beaches; he only wishes he had more time to relax on them!
Apart from highly recommending Australia as a study destination,
Kornel’s advice is that overseas students arrive at least one week
before university starts to arrange accommodation and get settled before
classes begin.
