Reshmabye
Mauritius
Institution attended: Central TAFE – Mt Lawley
campus
According to Reshmabye, learning about “the Australian way” is
part of the experience of studying in Australia. She enrolled in TAFE to improve
her English and because of the high standard of education in Australia
“I can speak better English now and I’ve also learnt the Australian way
of doing things and it was really helpful.”
Not only is she a seasoned
traveller with fluent English, but thanks to the hands-on training she had in
Australia, Reshmaybe started her career as a confident professional.
“My
Australian qualification taught me to do things differently and more
professionally. I believe I can do my job well,” she said.
Reshmaybe
graduated two years ago. She found that her qualifications are highly recognised
in the aged care industry and has received many job offers. Still, she has this
advice for graduates: “Do not give up if you don’t get a job right away. It
takes a bit of time. If you deserve it, sooner or later it will come,” she said.
Reshmabye’s other advice for future graduates is to make use of the
alumni network belonging to their Australian institution: “We always learn from
the experience of others.”
