Rajat Taneja
India
Institution attended: University of Ballarat
When Rajat
decided to pursue postgraduate studies in exercise rehabilitation, he knew that
he would need to head overseas because there were no suitable courses in his
home country, India.
He chose Australia because of its good reputation in
the field of exercise and sports science and the high quality of education on
offer.
Rajat enjoyed the Australian teaching style during his masters
program. “I especially like the practice-based approach and informal environment
of teaching and learning,” he says.
The teaching staff contributed to
Rajat’s positive study experience. “The lecturers have great depth of knowledge,
and they are more than willing to help students all the time.”
He was
also impressed by the standard of course work required, and believes that his
Australian qualification will lead to a career in injury prevention and
management for sports people. “Graduates are made to do in-depth study, thus
ensuring sound knowledge and good skills.”
Although he did feel homesick
occasionally, Rajat enjoyed living in Australia. “People are warm and friendly,”
he says. And his advice to prospective students? “It’s a great place to be. Come
and join me here!”
When asked whether he would consider further study in
Australia, Rajat said: “It’s already on the cards.”
