Kwan Ching
Hong Kong
Institution attended: Monash University
Kwan Ching
was already working as a nurse when he decided to improve his knowledge and
skills by returning to study. He enrolled at an Australian university because of
its international reputation and the affordable tuition fees.
Kwan Ching
is now back in the workforce and using his new skills. He adds, “I am on the
maximum pay scale as a registered nurse. I have reached this position partly
because I have received an Australian higher education.”
“Nurses
nowadays need advanced knowledge and skills. I firmly believe that the degree
will be very helpful for my promotion to senior posts in the future. Life-long
learning is important to maintain our competitive edge in the job
market!”
Kwan Ching found the quality of his education to be good. His
lecturers were friendly and helpful, and the teaching materials were very
relevant to his work. He has also continued to make use of the alumni network.
“Networking is important as we need to exchange knowledge, information
and, more importantly, develop friendships,” he said.
Kwan Ching advises
students considering postgraduate study to compare the cost and quality of the
teaching offered by different institutions and different countries in order to
make “a smart choice.”
