Jae could not be happier about his decision to study hospitality in
Australia. He was impressed not only by the lifestyle and opportunities
Australia has to offer but also by the comfort of studying in a safe
environment.
“I am very happy with my decision because I learned a lot
and had a great time.”
Jae found the facilities and the hospitality
program offered by TAFE Tasmania better than Korean programs. He feels that the
work experience in bars and restaurants that was part of his course gave him and
fellow students invaluable experience.
“Students are able to have a
complete idea of the systems of a real workplace, and alongside this there is an
academic component as well.”
He adds: “The learning is very organised and
flexible, and international students are given excellent support.”
Jae
has no doubt his Australian qualification was the major reason that he quickly
found a great job in the hospitality industry on returning home to Korea, as
well as his continued career success.
“In the hospitality industry in
Korea, Australian graduates perform very highly, so they have a strong
reputation, and Australian qualifications are very popular with employers. The
reason is that Australian courses are very practical and include a lot of work
skills.”
To others thinking of studying in Australia Jae says: “it will
be the most rewarding experience of your life if you use the experience to
connect with local people, develop your English, and learn some skills. After
that, you can achieve anything!”
