As the oldest, largest, and most experienced program provider Down Under, the Institute for Study Abroad, Butler University (IFSA-Butler) offers a fully integrated university experience. As the first large-scale U.S. study abroad program provider in Australia, we have years of expertise placing students from the finest colleges and universities in the U.S into the most prestigious universities in Australia.

We offer outstanding student services on all our Australian programs, and our summer programs let you experience Australia even if you have only a short time to spend abroad.

Services

Our Indianapolis office boasts experienced staff dedicated to helping students achieve the most from their study overseas. These staff members act as student advocates, from offering advice on selecting the right program, to translating Australian university credits into the American credit system for transfer on a Butler University transcript. Staff members offer assistance in applying, acquiring visas, arranging optional group travel, and preparing to study overseas by distributing written material to assist students with all aspects of predeparture planning.

Members of our Australian office staff meet students upon arrival overseas, conduct an adventure orientation, arrange for a stay on a sheep station or cattle ranch, assist students in registering at their university, and offer personal and academic support. The Australian office staff offer support throughout the semester, arrange staff visits to the universities and optional student excursions, and produce a newsletter to help keep students informed. IFSA-Butler welcomes minority students, and we are equipped to assist students with disabilities in securing necessary services.

Eligibility
