Academics
CEA offers Full Curriculum and International Internship programs in Sydney, Australia. Programs are offered during semester and year sessions.
The Full Curriculum program enables you to choose from over 300 courses in a variety of subject areas including Business, Education, Politics and Sciences, from Macquarie University's full course catalog. While studying alongside other international students and Australians, you can earn credit towards either your major or general education requirements. Study Abroad certificates are also available to students in the following areas: Commerce, Environmental Studies, Arts, Science, Technology and Education.
You also have the option of selecting the International Internship Program, designed for students who want to gain valuable experience in the workplace while also earning academic credit at Macquarie University. Students in the Internship program will have the opportunity to complete a semester-long, project-based internship at a local business in Sydney, gaining valuable skills for the global marketplace. Your internship will be complimented by courses from Macquarie's full course catalog.
The CEA Difference - Before, During and After your Program
As a CEA student in Australia, you will find one of your greatest assets to be the CEA staff, both at our U.S. Headquarters as well as "Down Under". From the time you contact CEA, you will be assigned an Enrollment Advisor to help you through the application process and then an Admissions Counselor through the process of preparing for your departure. Our U.S. Staff, who have all studied or lived abroad, assist students with everything from finding the best "fit" program, to getting their credits approved by their home university, to the visa application process. The overseas staff in Australia will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your housing. They will then provide an in depth orientation to Sydney, successful academics and adjusting to life as an Aussie. Upon your return to the States, you will be reunited with your Admissions Counselor who will assist you in transferring your credits back to your home institution.
Excursions and Activities
Throughout the semester, the CEA overseas staff will plan a variety of immersion activities, excursions and cultural events. Your onsite director will start by giving you a city and university tour; helping you get acquainted with your new "home". Throughout the semester you will be invited to participate in activities such as dolphin cruises, football matches, museum tours and other uniquely Australian activities. Several excursions are included in your program and in the past have been to locations such as Kangaroo Island, Flinders Ranges, the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley.
