Welcome to the Australian Education Centre – Malaysia, servicing Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
Australian education is world-renowned and will prepare you to compete for the best jobs when you return to your home, or if you choose to take international opportunities. Australian graduates have assumed the top posts in many governments and companies in the region.
The extensive Australian Alumni, measuring over 200,000 in Malaysia and over 100,000 in Singapore are an exclusive group with many networking opportunities which they find valuable in their working life. There are currently over 300,000 students from all over the world who have chosen to challenge themselves and study in Australia.
Should you choose to study in Australia, I hope you will get to know Australians as a people and as friends and have the opportunity to experience some of the unique aspects of Australia which make it so distinctive; the biggest island and the smallest continent; a place of vast expanses in the outback, yet the most highly urbanised nation outside of Singapore; a country with probably the oldest continuous culture – in our indigenous heritage – yet with the most multicultural and contemporary societies.
It may come as a surprise to many the extensiveness of our multicultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious society. For example there are over 300,000 Australian citizens who are of the Islamic faith, not to mention that 23% of our population was born overseas and Cantonese is the fourth most commonly spoken language at home. This cultural and racial mix has created an Australian society which has strong respect for all religions and pride in our diversity.
Education in Australia has developed its reputation of high quality through the use of benchmarking and standards through industry and government collaboration, making the use of the term "University" illegal for those that have not met those standards. Institutions that accept international students must also provide strong protections for the student through operation of the Educational Services for Overseas Students Act and the CRICOS register. The introduction of guardianship legislation to increase protections for those students that are under 18 years old shows Australia's commitment to ensure that the student has every opportunity to gain a rich learning experience.
