Australia has 39 universities, more than 580 vocational education and training institutions (VETs) and 6,800 schools across its six states and two territories.
Courses range from primary school level (seven years) all the way up to post-graduate degrees in universities. With the wide variety of institutions across the different states, each offering a different environment and experience, it might be hard to choose a course that might be best for you. In general, the academic year in Australia runs from late February or early March to late November. There are two semesters per academic year. The major intake of students for the majority of courses happens in the first semester, but some courses may have an intake in the July semester.
