Griffith University opens world-class nursing facility
The just launched National Centre of Research Excellence in Nursing (NCREN), which focuses on improving how nurses care for patients, is a first for Australia.
NCREN, which is partnered with several major Queensland hospitals, will generate high quality, evidenced-based research, develop clinical
practice guidelines, and examine the challenges and demands of
nursing.
"We must ask what are the risks involved and study the connection
between nursing practices and patient outcomes," said Professor Wendy
Chaboyer, Director of NCREN.
"Part of our duty is to train the next generation of clinical researchers in the hospitals. Being embedded in the hospitals allows us to help the hospitals become academic health centres."
More than 10,000 nurses have so far graduated from Griffith University.
