Technical and Further Education (TAFE) a publicly (government) funded post-secondary organisation which provides a range of technical and vocational education and training courses and other programs. Each State and Territory has its own TAFE system.
Tax File Number (TFN)

Definition

If you choose to work part-time while you are studying in Australia, you will need to apply for a Tax File Number (TFN). You can do this with the Australian Tax Office (www.ato.gov.au). At the end of the Financial Year (30 June), you may need to complete a tax return, depending on how much you have earned.

Taxis or cabs are cars with a driver that can be hired for short trips. Taxis are regulated in Australia; each state has its own system. All taxis in Australia have a meter, and fares are not negotiated. You can hail a taxi, order one by phoning a taxi company or catch one at a designated taxi rank.
